The GUM 15 Nebula is 3,000 light years away. I don’t see it photographed very often, and I haven’t done it justice with only 1 hour of integration. However it is quite a stunning Nebula and I’m surprised it is not a more popular target. I will definitely be revisiting this one for more exposure once I get my auto guiding working properly.
Here’s the image both with and without stars. Captured with:-
80mm f6 refractor scope, 480mm focal length
SVBony 405cc cooled astrocam -5°C
ZWI M5 mount
Session run with NINA
Edited in Pixinsight
60x 60 second exposure (1 hour integration)
